New Balance 574 Classics – Made in the USA

by Adam Kornfield on December 7th, 2009

From Machu Picchu to the Great Wall of China, I’ve worn my 5 year old pair of New Balance 574 classics all over the world.  With that pair finally dead, I bought the same ones again this time in gray.

To my astonishment, the shoes were actually made in the USA.  I wrote the company a letter thanking them for making shoes in the USA, and Chris at New Balance actually took the time to respond (see the letter below).

I thank New Balance in the following video:

New Balance wins points in my book for 3 reasons:

  1. The quality is fantastic
  2. The pair I bought is made in the USA
  3. They personally responded to my letter

Does it really matter, should New Balance make shoes in the USA?

I love that they are made in the USA, and I love that they wrote you a thank you note… but I think Chris needs to cool it with the exclamation points!

I definitely agree, while Chris loves his exclamations he gets big credit for actually writing. This video was done months ago and the shoes are still in great condition!
